Product Description
Use the Cordless DECT Repeater (730639) to extend the range of the Cordless DECT Telephone (730095). During installation, special software is used to "pair" one or multiple repeaters with a specific Cordless DECT Base Unit. This allows the user to walk through a facility and have their call "handed off" to one or more repeaters. The call is then automatically handed back to the Base Unit when the user returns to their desk.

The Cordless DECT Programming Kit (730640) is required when registering multiple repeaters with each other to create a "daisy chain" of coverage. This may be required to adequately cover long, linear expanses. You can also use the Programming Kit to register a repeater to a base.

**Registering a Repeater (P/N 730639) with a Cordless DECT Base**

To register a repeater with a Cordless DECT Base without using a programming kit and cable:

• 1. Verify that the Cordless DECT handset and base are properly installed and operating.
  • Also verify that there is not another DECT 6.0 device close by that is in the registration mode.
• 2. Initialize the repeater:
  • Plug in the repeater power adaptor for 3 seconds and then unplug it quickly.
  • The LED on the repeater should be lit solid when you unplug it. If it is flashing, you waited too long. Start again.
  • Leave the repeater unplugged for 5 seconds, plug it back in for 30 seconds.
  • Unplug the repeater again.
  • During the 30 second interval, the LED on the repeater should flash slowly. If it doesn't, start the initialization again.
• 3. Put the base unit into the registration mode by holding down the Cordless button for about 5 seconds.
  • The blue Power LED on the base will flash slowly during the registration mode.
• 4. Plug in the repeater.
  • The LED on the repeater will go on for a few seconds, flash for a few seconds, and then stay on.
• 5. Unplug the base unit power adaptor.
  • While the base unit is unplugged, the LED on the repeater will flash slowly. This indicates that the base to which the repeater is registered is not found (which is correct).
• 6. Plug the base unit back in.
  • After a few seconds, the LED on the repeater will stop flashing. This indicates the the registration was successful, and that the base and the repeater are currently paired.

(Optional) Repeat this procedure to register additional repeaters with the same base.

**Placing a Registered Repeater**

To place the registered repeater:

• 1. Unplug the repeater power adaptor.
• 2. Carry the repeater to its installation location and plug it in.
• 3. Verify that the repeater is within range of the base.
  • If the LED on the repeater goes on for a few seconds, flashes for a few seconds, and then stays on, the repeater and base are within range of each other.
  • If the LED on the repeater goes on for a few seconds and then flashes continuously, the repeater and base are out of range. Move the repeater closer to the base and try again.
