The D/42D-SX board can access the calling and called number identification for calls forwarded or transferred from within the PBX, access trunk identification for calls originating outside the PBX, and control SUPERSET LCD message notification. The D/42D-SX board also features positive disconnect supervision to immediately detect when a caller has hung up.

The D/42D-SX board is based on a unique dual-processor architecture comprising a digital signal processor (DSP) and a general-purpose microprocessor that handles all telephony signaling and performs DTMF (touchtone) and audio/voice signal processing tasks. When used with the MITEL Superswitch PBX, the D/42D-SX board provides a flexible platform for developing integrated computer telephony applications. Dialogic developers can integrate current applications on the D/42D-SX board with minimal software modifications and create more efficient applications for the PBX by offering value-added features. The Dialogic D/42D-SX board is an excellent building block for expanding the capabilities of voice processing applications.

Downloaded firmware algorithms executed by the on-board DSP, provide variable voice coding at 24 and 32 Kb/s ADPCM, and 48 and 64 Kb/s. Sampling rates and coding methods are selectable on a channel-by-channel basis. Applications may dynamically switch sampling rate and coding method to optimize data storage or voice quality as the need arises. The D/42D-SX board uses proprietary DSP-based algorithms to provide reliable DTMF/MF detection, DTMF cut-through, and talk off/play off suppression over a wide variety of telephone line conditions.
